Michael_H Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 I have the yellow coil (whatever it is called) on the dashboard flashing for the past two days. Galaxy 1.9 TDi, Ghia X, Auto, 1998. At the same time when I press on the gas pedal the engine misses beats. What do I need to know b4 I go and give my hard earned money to the Ford dealer? Also, is this problem correctable by anybody else outside of Ford?I am also looking for a refurbished/used Auto Gearbox ECU; part number 98VW12B565JA. They cost a fortune. I have been looking for one for the past six months with no luck. Thanks Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 First thing would be to check your brake lights are working, then proceed through the normal set of faults eg MAF disconnect and see if it stays the same. Then if nothing else you will need to get the fraud Dealer to connect to the OBD port and download the fault codes being used to log the engine fault. Check your brake lights and switch as there is two sets of contacts one for the actual lights and one for the gearbox and engine ecu inputs. Quote
