Speedo Clocks How 2 51 Plate Galaxy 19 Tdi Ghie

have a 2001 ghie it has top and botom parts missing on the miles part of the clocks i need to know how to remove the interment glaster [ie] does the clocks come out or is is it the dash need to come out. if i can get the clocks out i may beable to repair the segments thanks bill

hi yes the clocks to come out from the dash

 

you need to remove the lower dash section drivers door side.once remove look up under the steering colum near the shroud covers they is 2 small screws...

 

remove both.then i got a small bladed screwdriver in the top part of the clocks where it meets the dash ,to move it forward..and the unit will then pop out

 

once out when you remove the 2x multi plugs at the back.remember when you fit the plugs back in your airbag light will need to be reset with vagcom

 

as for your lcd display,you will need to totaly dismantle the clocks to get to it,be very carefull.

 

as its a very fidley job indeed

 

the front case needs to be removed,then the needles need to be prized off,take note where they lie before you do this,once this is done ,take the covers off ie speedo/rev counter covers

you will then see the clips to remove the gages from the unit.once this is done.remove the metal clips at the back of the speedo unit,which will then give you access to the miles lcd unit
