Guest MATT jr Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 Seen on ebay (No140066849490) has any one fitted one? or know if there any good? ...this has been covered before, that one on ebay, is just a resistor, and is crap. ...although it does "trick" the engine to produce more power, you cant beat a proper tuning box or re-map. me and my dad looked into these things in great detail, until we came unstuck, when we found out our automatic can only handle 325NM, so decided to leave it. the member "GSMGuy" fitted a tuning box to his automatic, and bust 2 automatic gearboxes! a proper tuning box, costs around Quote

Guest rambo Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 nah dont bother mate i got for for my old mondeo out of curiosity and yes it does feel a bit more powerful but it dont last long it fools the ecu into thinking the engine is cold all the time, so its like running with the choke on all the time thus uses more petrol more petrol = more power but it aint long till the ecu realises, and reverts back to the normal settings so waste of time really seems great at first couple of days, its back to its old self, and you can buy them resistors for about 2p from maplins if you really want to try it  dont think you will though after that lol Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 Unless there any different advice given the two favorite ways of boosting power, seems to be a remap of the ECU, or a proper tuning box, i don't know much about the Re-Maps, but it has been covered before on here. as for tuning box's, people who have them fitted say their worth their Quote
