joner Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 can somebody please explain to me why my temp gauge on cold start up goes to 110 cent then back down to nothing again just had aux heater glow plug fitted plus they put new water temp sensor in because it was spluttering and cutting out on start when cold very cheesed off a moment because they cant find nothing wrong any suggestions please Quote
Guest wolfie Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 We can deduce that it's a TDI due the aux heater? but further vehicle details maybe required? as to why this occurance is happening? since the renewal of the glow plug does the aux heater run correctly? does it fire up at start up (if it's cold enough) and does it continue to run?when the temp gauge drops to 0.C does it kick in? are you getting heat output from the heaters? if you are getting decent heat output I woulkd say that the aux heater is doing it's job and you have a possible sensor/gauge fault?are the cooling fans kicking in? if they are then the engine is getting hot enough? and the sensor/gauge problem looks promising?
