rich r Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 HiHave a very annoying problem in that my car (2000 1.9 PDi) for no apparent reason goes into what I assume is "limp mode" The annoying thing is it can happen after I have driven for over 300 miles non stop or sometimes when only driven about 2 miles, everything can be fine for as long as a month using the car every day and then it may happen twice in a week, if it happens after a short run just switch off & on and its fine, if it happens after a very long run it has to be switched off for about 30 mins to reset. Have had the MAF changed and in between Quote

jvernon Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 The car going into limp-home mode would indicate that the ECU has picked up a fault somewhere, so the best way of diagnosing what your problem is would be to get the car plugged into VAG-COM or some similar diagnostic software to read the fault off of the ECU. Where abouts are you based? Perhaps if there is somebody on the forum with VAG-COM they'd be willing to come and plug it in for you? Regards,James Quote

NikpV Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Slightly more serious turbo problems causing limp home mode would agree that you need the codes read though Quote
