Dalbir Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 How do I search for more than one key word on this forum ie "booster mpg". Searching works for one word only. If Ienter more tha one word then it fails with errors. Thanks Dal Quote
NikpV Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 interesting searching for booster, mpg only returns this post of Dalbir's booster + mpg returns an error (no posts)as doesbooster mpg note search terms in bold Quote
NikpV Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 (edited) Incidently if the site is upgraded to version 2.2 the search feature gets upgraded as well (edit: now I'm not so sure - see below ) so that the following will work (according to invision - who make the software that the forum runs on) , I have tried these on version 2.1.6 but they don't appear to work apple banana Find posts that contain at least one of these words +apple +juice Find posts with both words +apple -juice Find posts with 'apple' but not 'juice' apple* Find posts with 'apple' and/or 'applesauce' "Some Words" Find posts with the phrase 'some words of wisdom', 'some words' but not 'some noise words' although I notice that this forum which also runs on 2.1.6 does allow the use of the boolean operators - I wonder if its something that Glen could enable (advanced search features) or whether its something that has to be added on by buyig it extra ??? Guest MATT jr Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 in such likes as google, you would use booster AND mpg = if you want both words to be in what your searching OR = either words MJR Quote
