Can you describe the problem a bit more? I'm slightly confused at what you're asking for help with and perhaps that is the reason that nobody else has replied? It could be that everyone on the forum except me knows exactly what you're going on about but just doesn't know how to help; but with the combined knowledge from all the members on here I find that extremely difficult to believe.

...is there a micro switch in the changer that detects when the cd magazine is there or not - if this switch is broke to the "circuit closed" position, the changer will think the magazine is there, when it isnt, and might "attempt" to read the disks.

i have never opened up, or repaired a cd changer, so its a complete guess!

are you sure it's reading CD1, CD2 ..... as on certain OE changers EO1 is no magazine loaded, EO2 is no discs in the magazine! which would be correct if as you say the magazine isnt loaded?

It sounds like the either there are 2 cd's in the same slot jamming the magazine, try selecting a different cd and see if it clears the magazine.

I am assuming that the magazine is in the right way up ! clear window at top !

Another option is that the magazine has no power to it, fuse gone or not plugged in correctly.

IIRC - when i unplugged our cd changer,, an error message came on the display, something like, "no disk", although ours is a ford 4050 radio.

does the cd changer make any noises at all?

has the changer worked since you had the car?

any possible reasons why it isnt working?

have you checked its plugged in, behind the radio?

checked fuses? (although ours seems to be powered from the head unit!)

do any clips on the magazine, or inside the changer look broken?

also cannot eject magazine!!!

...so how do you get the magazine out?
