Guest steve_lj Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 Hiya Fellas - sorry to bring the booster heater up again. Have searched the Forum and there are LOTS of posts about it but I cant find any reference to the problem I seem to be having. Car taking an age to warm up so checked and low and behold no "jet turbine" running even though it was only 6deg temp outside. Investigating further I can feel the unit getting really hot - so my guess is the glow plug is OK (though do stand to be corrected) but the fan is not kicking in at all. So hopefully some of the more enlightened can help with a few questions I have....Is there a delay before the fan should kick in ??Could it be an electrical problem with the fan ??Would either of the above mean me having to have the fault cleared at Fraudsters ??Does anyone have any other suggestions ?? Thanks in advance Steve 53 plate auto diesel 53k Quote
buford_t_justice Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 Welcome to the "booster heater failure" club ! Do you have access to a fault code reader? Where are you based as other members, including myself, could read the codes for you. Quote

Guest steve_lj Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 .....hijackerwith all the posts on this subject guess its not much of an exclusive club !!!!!I'm in N West - if anyone local can read/check for fault code would bereally appreciated......nicknothing coming from exhaust - stone cold , just the heater unit itself gets hot.so am I right in thinking that its overheating cos the fan isnt coming on??
