Ivor_E_Tower Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 If I had the money to replace my Galaxy, I don't know what I'd buy. The latest one, and the S-Max don't have a spare wheel/tyre so that rules them out (plus I don't like their dashboards). The Sharan is pensionable and there seems no confirmed date for its replacement to go on sale. Previa will shortly be discontinued, Trajet is also pensionable. New Sedona is over-priced and apparently not that wonderful to drive. I would have liked a new Espace but despite its thinner A-pillars and improved forward-side visibility compared to the Gal, I still cannot get used to central digital instruments and that daft electric handbrake that is fitted to all but the base models. Just as well that I cannot afford to change my car, then ! Quote
raymac Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 Well if i had to replace mine i would get another one but with a bit more kit and maybe a 130bhp ,i have to say that it is the best car i have driven and the driving position is brill, great holiday bus Quote

Guest walz Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Hi Gooner, St very plastic inside more rattles and creaks than the Galaxy, Now if you could get hold of a RS focus, that would be good. We had one in at the old mans and the driver feed back etc was just superb. Never go for anything MG!!! So with your list the Merc is the only bet and you have a dealer on the roundabout by the new road from the pipe. The old man has Merc's from there always good after sales service nothing is too much hassle, even silly things like rattly door, Dont try and fix it replaced the whole door with window mech, interior trim etc etc. Walz Quote

Marky Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Hi Gooner, Test drove an ST3 before the Gal went, v nice, v fast, hard ride (even after the 35mm lowered gal on 18's) but nice! Only thing for me was as I walked away from it, I looked back and saw a............ Ford Focus  They are a great car, but you do need to make it stand out a bit more, so either go for asbo orange ( Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 thanks for the input marky truth be told can wait to see the back on this so called ford galaxy pile of rubbish cars and the peeps have been nothing but trouble from day one,,apart from a few  the only bit i shall missed is the car in winter i can now here toyota crying out,,perhaps a previa looks a lot more sexy kitted up than the gals do and toyota owners club members dont pee you off as much  again cheers dude..ps yr gal looks the part m8 Quote
Marky Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Hehehe..nice one gooner....... Thanks for the compliment but Gal gone now!! Replaced by a P38 Range Rover and Freelander Stationwagon... Forgot to say..got an X type loaner at the moment...nice car but you can't help but think you are driving a trumped up mondeo and the resell value drops by about a pound a mile!!! Not that there is anything wrong with the mondeo, I've had time with a ST-TDCi estate and the Titanium TDCi 5 door, both great cars, great engine, good build quality, shame about the dealers!!!Previa - NO.....Trajet - NO......Merc - NO..... MR2 - NO..... The only other 'people carrier' I considered was the Zafira GSi... Good luck in your hunt and keep us posted !! Quote
