Jimbo73 Posted December 6, 2006 Report Posted December 6, 2006 I dont know wether its the way I drive the car but when changing up the gears or down. when the revs are low it gives a judder. The revs are not too low as to casue a judder, but it judders in 2nd and 3rd. It only happens when the accelerator is on the floor. When you lift the pedal and slowly depress it iagain t goes okay. Like its letting too much fuel through and it cant cope. Is this normal? Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted December 6, 2006 Report Posted December 6, 2006 How bad of a judder? our Automatic sometimes "judders" under certain conditions. (when accelerating, low revs, up hill). it only does it enough to make the cassette vibrate & top storage pockets. MJR Quote

Andrew T Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Wouldn't you expect clutch judder at every gearchange though? I also wonder about a broken roll restrictor bolt (see FAQs) but again I would expect it in every gear and particularly setting off in first. What revs does it happen at? Quote

Nope you wouldn't expect a clutch judder at every gearchange 2nd and 3rd ( especially 3rd ) are the most likely, you dont really need a clutch to change into 4th, for 5th you usually have a lot of torque applied when you change and you tend to only engage 1st when stationary. All this is tosh however if Andrew T comes back and sayes he is driving an Auto ! Quote
Andrew T Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 It'll be a cold day in hell when I buy an Auto! Just going from my own experience when my cars have developed clutch judder it's been worst setting off in 1st and then lessening with each change. Quote
zeplin43 Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Had a similar problem had to change inner cv joint. Quote
