Shame there wasn't the option to enter a security code @ the end of each post or reply to validate the user's integrity, that way spam bots would be blocked and the poor admin's time would be saved. My own website has the same problems with bots & I ended up blocking group IP ranges, in other words anyone from a certain country, sounds harsh but not many people from Russia needed to post on my site .

Keep up the good work lads.

Spam bots have come on a long way where they can actually read the security code even if using GD2 generated images, Plus now spam is being done manually for $1 a week.

By using all the methods on that are now implimented on this site I think most can now enjoy the site without me having to block total IP ranges, there are far too many IP ranges for each country too block them all plus it would increase server load, at last count there is 5900 different variations of IP calcualation for the larger countries, it is not a simple case of saying ban all 75.0.0.1 to 75.0.0.225 for part of america as AOL UK use some in that IP range with UK users

By banning IP ranges and subnets you could actually be stoping people that you want on your site from getting on.

not too sure where this thread is heading!! I don't want to duplicate old questions, but with out being able to view pdfs or jpgs with potential solutions to my galaxy problems find myself in a chicken and egg situation!
