Taygarth Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 First posting here - only just joined as a member but have been a regular guest. This is not a new problem but just another solution. I had the 'engine workshop' and flashing glow plug light problem. Also had the bulb failure light on but it went out when the brake pedel was depresed. I had two new brake pedel switches fitted (under warranty) and each time the fault cleared but returned after some time. The thing that was really throwing me was that if I reached up under the dash and moved the wires about that go to the brake switch the fault imediatley cleared every time - came back sometimes hrs somtimes days later. Anyway I had the car into the garage again with the fault and they traced it to the towing plug for the road lights. One of the outer pins inside the plug had pushed back and was intermitantly shorting on the centre pin.Unfortunatly as the towing electrics were not dealer fitted this was not under warranty so the diagnostic cost me around Quote

jkspoff Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 The bulb failure light will always remain illuminated until the break pedal has been pressed to check the operation of the break light bulbs. Its supposed to do this. Quote
