Andrew T Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 This may help. Although it's for replacemnet of the AC evaporator it involves removing the dash. Quote
Vanbursta Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 There are 2 bolts (at least) that have to be removed, one is accessable after removing the air intake housing and the other after removing the alarm horn. And yes you need to remove the wiper assembly to gain access. Quote
dipsomaniac Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 speaking to a vw technician last night - he recons the dash out and back in is a 6 hour job - they obviously aren't allowed as many tea breaks as you or I. i am still waiting for a spare 5 days to start mine. might be a bit late but he did mention that you shouldn't turn the ignition on during the job as you will need to clear any fault codes once it is back together. if you have access to the hardware/software to clear them it is not a problem. did you need to remove the sound proofing in the engine bay to access some of the bolts? can you let me know how you get on and what problems you experience? Charliemuttley Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Hi, sorry to butt in, but just did my matrix and evaporator yesyerday and it is about 8 hours all told. There are two 6mm bolts behind the wiper assembly for the dash. Quote
