JohnR Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Have just finished installing my Mio 269 in the centre box of the Gal. I also got a TMC receiver (spec'd for Mio 269+) on ebay. Now, mine is not a 269+, but I have flashed the firmware to Rev 21 and loaded up MioMap V2. I have split off the car ariel signal to feed the TMC receiver, and there is now a good signal showing if you click the TMC icon and scan through various radio channels. The question is, I can find no documentation as to what to expect to get from this. At the moment, the TMC icon occasionally flashes white but so far (ok, its only been hooked in for 4 hours) it still indicates a zero. Never having had such a thing, what can I expect from this? Is it all working and I just need to wait for an event....or what? There's a lot of confusion about what works in the UK and what does not. Having got this far, does it mean that mine is working but just has nothing to report at the mo?? Thanks for any input, John Quote

Guest neil_wiles Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 TMC is trafiic management them Blue boxes at the side of the road on sticks. When you pass one it should update your system if you have paid the subscription with all the traffice flow details including roadworks etc Quote

When you pass one it should update your system if you have paid the subscription with all the traffice flow details including roadworks etc I think you are talking about the Traffic Master system. This is not traffic master, it uses (I believe) channel 20 and messages are received from radio stations. I used to ave an AA pyramid on the dash that used that....it was very good at telling you that you shoulda taken the last exit! Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 its similar to traffic master but tmc warns of the speed of traffic and conjestion not just accidents etc Quote
