Guest gooner52 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 looks a nice unit with all the xxxxxs mind unit is very cheap :) but as long as it does ,what it says on the tin its great ;) Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 mmmm, well i havnt used that 1, but i would go for a more expensive one (or better one). i highly recommend you get one that uses FULL post code search, not just PART postcode. a large screen is also useful - as when driving/using it, u might need to glance at the screen, to check which exit you need etc. (ours is 3.5 inch, and i would say that is the minimum size you should get) also, our navman is poor for getting a signal - dont know if that exact model is the same (ours is the ICE520 - IIRC). i dont know what else is on the market atm, and at what price, but i think you could get a better unit than that, for a bit more money. -- its worth investing in btw -- Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Hi BigRupe, The ICN 330 uses the older maps and GPS receiver and as MJR said, it will take longer to get a good gps fix from behind a heated screen without an external receiver attached. I've just bought one of these which has the latest maps, latest SirfStarIII gps chip and has speed camera database pre-loaded. Good basic satnav and just as good if not better (IMO) than the TomTom One which is Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 paul let us know how you get on with that unit you bought m8 ;) Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 paul let us know how you get on with that unit you bought m8  My initial thoughts are HERE and I still stand by them. A VERY good quick, accurate, simple to use, go from A to Z sat nav unit with clear consise mapping. It even navigated my exact back road route to work as the quickest way possible, so happy with that too! ;) Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 ...thats alright then! MJR ;) Quote
