Vag-com Problem......apart From Everything Else!

hi to everyone im a newbe so please be gentle :lol:

 

i have a gal its a zetec 1.9 tdi diesel year 2001, firstly can one of u fine guys tell me if its a "PD" engine? the info i have is this :

variant AUY 1 ,

version 7A Q

now comes my real problemo!!

LACK OF POWER :D i have been and read up all most everything there is to, on the forum, and have tried a few...like MAF...changed it!!!! no joy!!!!! :D . disconnected the battery for 10 mins still the same :D so i have been doing my home work.

 

so i have bought a vag-com cable from ebay as most of u and downed the software...ross-tech 409.1 ( as the add in ebay said it works with it). software on laptop and driver installed( the cable is from www.autonostics.com ) on the laptop everything is ok with the port com....but on the gal all i get is "NO RESPONSE FROM CONTROLLER".......yes i have read up on vag-com on the forum, but with no joy on my problem.....!!!! PLEASE can anyone HEEEEEEELP on out??????????? what am i doing wrong!!!!!!???????

 

 

ps : the engine starts but sounds as if its on 3 pistons and drives as if its draging the misses along :lol: (wishful thinking....only joking luv :lol: )

it is a pd engine - does it sound rough all the time? is the lack of power across the range, on the flat ? up hills best give folk some clues - how many miles has it done? auto/manual ?

 

 

unfortunately I can't afford a vag-com so can't help you with that bit

 

 

 

probably worth putting your vehicle details in your signature for future reference :lol:

yes its rough all the time, thats cold and warmed up

yes i would say the lack of power is all of the range, but maybe a touch better after 2500-3000 rpm

yes uphill the misses just will not let go!!! thats the worst time

mileage is on 150,000.
