Funny thing is that is aircraft is from 29Sqn?????? .... this WW2 story concerns a painter was told to paint the Roman numerals for 29 Sqn (XXIX) and missed the I out ...... It stuck!

So the Sqn's nickname is "Dirty Thirty"

i went a airshow earlier this year, and the Typhoon made an appearance, think it had about 15 mins all to itself.

 

only my face could explain it, but what a bloody amazing machine!

 

very tight turning circle, and power.

 

it did a low (really really low) fly in to the centre of the field, then went vertical, and at the same time, accelerated from 200mph to 500mph, using after burners.

 

firstly - the loudest thing i have ever heard.

secondly - the vibration was like a small earthquake.

then you want to come to eastbourne in the summer around august coz we(the town)put on a totally free air show and truth be told it is bloody amazing,i say free it is to visitors but us mugs who are residents get charged an arm and a leg in taxes for it,and all the local bussinesses plunder the spoils.....but ho hum.
