Change Cd Player

hi, i have got a '97 sharan that is fitted with a sony cdx 580r single cd player. i do not have the hanbook for this model as it was fitted before i got the car. does anyone know if it can be used to control a cd changer unit and does anyone have a user manual i could get a copy from? i have searched the net and there is minimal info available. if it can't control a changer unit can anyone recommend a set up that i could find second hand at reasonable cost either here or on e-bay. there does not appear to be a spare multi-pin plug in the right hand rear compartment. i am fairly competant at most things but ICE has never been my interest so i lack the terminology and am unfamiliar with available options. many thanks in advance, taz
