Wanted..cd Writer Rewriter Thingy.

Maz ... if you look at this;

 

 

the left plug would usually plug into IDE1 (IDE0 will be for the hard drive)

 

the middle plug was the CD writer if it was below the DVD Rom drive ...and the far right was connected to the DVD Rom. If you can you need to try connecting the DVD rom to the middle connector.

ok...gimme a few mins whiklst i move it down..

 

ok..pulled it out the back of the dvd drive and plugged the slave in...

Ok..swapped over..DVD Rom drive is now plugged in to the slave plug...master is free..and the dvd rom works..im watching the pacifier. :)

 

so..what does that mean?cable is fine?

Yep that confirms the cable is OK and the controller is fine. You need another drive now then.... :)

then why in device manager it kept telling me that the dirive was ok when it wasnt? :lol:

All device manager does is tell you that its connected and the driver is OK. It doesnt tell you whether or not its capable of transferring data ..... or the lens is clean .... :lol: :lol:
