I cabbed a primera, then a carina e(which i still use), then a mondeo, and now the galaxy. I f i had to chose my fav it would be the Carina ..........made me lots of money for very little outlay. I guess what I am trying to say is are you faithful to one brand or do you care? Quote
Guest HairyPlateEater Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I've had all kinds in the 14 years i've been driving Started off with a Vauxhall Chevette, been through Ford Orion, Vauxhall Astra, BMW 318is, Suzuki Vitara JX, a number of Peugeot 306 & 406, 2 Rover 800s, Ford Mondeo, Nissan Largo 7 seat Jap import, Volvo 855 7 seat, Fiat Marea Weekend (7 seat converted) and now the Galaxy. Galaxy by far the best 7 seater I've owned for my needs, BMW nicest to drive, Vitara the most fun. Will probably stick with Galaxy until kids left home now and no longer need the seats. Oops, almost forgot the 1982 Celica me and a mate spent 12 months restoring. Man that was quick! stuck a jap import 2.8 Supra engine in it. Then someone nicked it and trashed it. B4stards! Quote

Guest bigal Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I've had quite a few as well, tend to get bored of them after a couple of years. Vauxhall Chevette x2Ford CapriMini Metro Ford Escort MK 3Ford Escort MK 4Ford Mondeo MK1SAAB 9000Ford Mondeo MK2SAAB 900Rover 216Renault ScenicVW Passatand the Galaxy. I really liked the SAAB 9000, Mondeos were good apart from Dealers and the Passat was also really good.I do like the Galaxy and will, depending on her indoors job get another in a few years. Quote

JohnR Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Now...our previous car was a Rover.....Liked the charcoal biscuits. :D Had allsorts too. Thinking about it, the last ford I had was about 1982. I remeber saying "never again" and I didn't either until this summer. The Gal is a great motor, and not really a Ford for the most part. I bought it partly because of the almost bombproof VW engine. Come to think of it, the only motors that I didn't say "never again" to were a BMW 318 and a Volvo which were both indestructable. Worst was a Peugeot which was plagued with electrical probles for the 6 years I had it. That really is a "NEVER AGAIN" Quote
mumof4 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Now...our previous car was a Rover.....Liked the charcoal biscuits. :D Had allsorts too. Now would those be the liquorice kind..or the new fruity ones ..or the ice icream flavoured ones??? I much prefer the original ones...fruity ones..big no no for me... :( Quote

Lowered Koni adjustables so boy did it go around corners. Plan to buy one someday to restore. :D At the same time also had a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus 2.2 Twin cam. Very fast car in a straight line just couldnt get it to go around corners or stop the damn thing. :D Dont think ill ever own two rally championship winning cars at the same time again. ( Got 2 kids instead) :D 6. Peugout 306 D Turbo. Good car but the one after the 205 so it had no chance really :D 7. Ford Mondeo MK1 2.5 V6 Ghia. Great car. Lovely engine. :D 8. Mazda 323 2.0 V6, Probably the only Jap car that wouldnt start in the mornings but looked stunning on the driveway :D 9. Ford Galaxy Mk1 2.8. Nice car but just a little bit thirsty. Air con didnt work thinking about it. How you live and Learn. :D 10. Ford Mondeo Mk 3 TD DI. Nice car but wanted the TD CI :D 11. Ford Mondeo MK 3 Estate TD CI ( You knew that was coming ) :D 12.
