Guest CraigR Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Thanks, I'll give it a go and let you know how I get on. Quote
Guest CraigR Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Checked out the loom as you suggested but no joy - I removed the cables from the alarm box, gave them a spray with WD40 and put them back. The CL is now working but the double locking isnt and the alarm keeps coming on when the doors are opened. Hmmmmm. I think the alarm controller box in the footwell may be faulty. Any suggestions? :( Quote
Guest axlegrease Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Craig, I had a similar problem to yours on my 1997 mondeo, except that my double locking wouldn't activate and my alarm wouldn't work from the passenger side door. The problem was caused by the alarm switch which is clipped on around the barrel lock. The switch has two positions, set and reset (iirc) and one side of it had broken off. A new switch cost me about Quote
Guest CraigR Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 Tried to put the alarm system into test mode but it keeps going off whenever you press the bonnet sensor - looks like the control box is gone. Can get the doors to lock and unlock (but no double locking) from either side but as soon as a door is opened the alarm goes off. Still running with the fuse taken out and I'm going to look for a similar unit at a scrap yard. If I still get no joy I can look at the door lock but I don't think thats the problem. Thanks Quote
