Guest e36er Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Hi all, I bought a 51 plate Mondeo Zetec yesterday and I have to say I'm extremely pleased with it, although I have a few niggly problems I'd like solved. The cd player skips constantly, I'd like to replace it with the later style one although all the ad's I've seen state that they will only fit 2004 onwards models, is there anyway I can retrofit this? The front windscreen washers are very weak and the water just trickles out, am I right to assume that it's time for a new washer pump? Also, is this easy enough to fit? The clutch bite point is very high indeed, can this be adjusted? Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Regards,Owen Quote
littlenewt2067 Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I am no expert, but the washers probably are getting blocked or gooed up...pipes may do with a clean...as for the clutch, I have heard they can be very expensive to sort out! I do know someone who spent Quote
Guest e36er Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Hmm, not sure that's what I wanted to hear about the clutch! It doesn't slip or judder so I was hoping I could adjust it a bit, somehow... As for the weak washers, I disconnected the pipe near the offside washer and the water still just trickled out so I know the actual washer jets aren't blocked, nor is the pipe to them. I tried following the pipe but it seems to disappear underneath the washer fluid resevoir?! Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 ive had a mk1 and mk2 mondys and was told it was a engine out job for the clutch,or near to taking it out :( Quote

Disconnect it and you'll find it full of crud. Give it a good washout and that'll sort the problem. :D Quote
