dynomikered Posted November 9, 2006 Author Report Posted November 9, 2006 Thanks for the reply polski will check it out. The temp gauge sometimes works but is erratic i.e jumps up to 90% but then drops to 50% the engine does get warm and the revs do drop eventually but takes a very long time. I also get full heating in the car when its turned on Quote
andyk Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 Does your booster heater work? If it's not working your engine will take a long time to heat up. Plenty of info on this site about the booster heater (somtimes called the auxillary heater). They are prone to failure, usually the glow plug. Can you hear the 'jet engine' sound at the nearside rear door? If not, then it's the booster heater. Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 The temp gauge sometimes works but is erratic i.e jumps up to 90% but then drops to 50% the engine does get warm and the revs do drop eventually ours was doing the exact same, sometimes reved up when you start it aswel. the garage have replaced the temp sensor, and all is fine. BUT iv just been on a 20 min run, and the engine never reached 90C, and i cant hear the booster running. i did ask them to fix it, but ;) MJR  Quote
