Guest gooner52 Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 well my clocks said its was 3-0c tonight, and i didnt get a warning. i thought you got a warning at 4-0c or lower but ive looked at the handbook at it says. outside temperature.not displayed if an automatic temp control is fitted, identcal values in both memories also says when the outside temp is +4c or below,a ice warning sysmbol will blink in the display along with the current temp, for 10seconds.in addition a warning tone sounds so should this do this on mine or not because i have the automatic temp control with dual aircon advise please  Quote
Wasphouse Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 I have dual air con on my Mk2 and yes it does give a warning at 4 c - it has a bonging noise and the discplay flashes with a snowflake. Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 cheers m8 clears that one up thanks  Quote
g4hlf Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Gooner, My 2001/2002 1.9TDi Ghia gives a warning at 4c, Ice symbol pops up and a boing. Quote
NikpV Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 IIRC it only gives the warning as it changes to 4C if the temperature is below 4C when you get in the car I don't think it gives a warning - the only time we have more than one warning is when the temperature fluctuates :( Quote
Guest HairyPlateEater Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 There's a lot of good to be said for the MK1's simplicity :D 1 ice light on at 4C, 2 on at 0C. I've never had a bong in the car ..... might get smelly water everywhere :( ;) Quote

You ONLY get the warning if the temperature drops below 4 degrees while you are driving. John Quote
NikpV Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 I've never had a bong in the car well not in a galaxy :( ;) :D Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 well mine does not bong :D time 2 look 4 a new set of clocks me tinks :( Quote
MrT Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 There is the snowflake at the bottom of the red led screen when the temperature is at or below 4C, the bong happens as the temperature drops below 4C. The bong is very quiet in my car and easily missed. I seem to remember some message appearing as well, but it has been nearly a year since I last had the warning. so I may be wrong. Quote
