Dally Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 Try The Seat web site- www.seat.co.ukSelect alhambraSelect AccessoriesSelect TouringSelect Wind Deflectors They should fir current Galaxy, Alhambra and Sharan models. Ivor_E_Tower Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 I didn't think that the doors had changed; would have thought that wind deflectors that fit the Mark I would also fit the Mark II. Quote
iainkirk Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 I would concur with the comments regarding the doors. Having had a 1996P and a 2003 53, I can confirm that the doors haven't changed at all. Quote
Dave-G Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 according to CD Brammel, there are two differing part numbers tween the old and new deflectors. I cant see the difference tween the doors either, but "cdb" spares guy sez new doors are squarer than old ones. I also got front light protectors at same time 'cos the plastic len's would costalot to replace if i cop a stone chip. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 Plastic light protectors don't appear in the Galaxy accessory brochure - are yours genuine Ford ones? If so, I wonder what other accessories Ford make that they don't show in the accessory brochure (eg I'm still after a split dog guard to allow 6 seats plus pet). Quote
Dave-G Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 I came across both the light guards and wind deflectors in CD's parts dep't while buying somat else, had to order them & wait 2 days. Methinks you're right about "not Ford",but dint keep boxes or documentation,so cannot confirm. they dont have a ford stamp on em. Quote
Guest oscar Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 mr ian kirk im not a gambling man but my friend i will have one very huge bet with you and i dont like to tell you that they are very diffrent please have a bet with me i would love to take your money. go to fords and see what they tell you thats after i have had your dosh B) Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Elaborate then "Oscar" You obviously have some information we haven't - care to share it? (A ring of familiarity prevails) Quote
Dave-G Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Well now, this looks interesting! In the interests of finding out for sure,I'll be taking a tape measure to my mates pre facelift sharan to measure along the lowest part of the drivers door window & compare it to mine. I suspect we MAY find more than we are looking for........like less room for seats to fold down due to a shortened shalaxy...........Note the "may" B) I wont be able to report back on this till tomorrow at the earliest. could somebody measure their prefacelift front door window? I have measured mine at 845mm,I refer to the lowest area of glass, and only the amount of glass visible from the outside of the car, this is easier than trying to measure around the mirror. Quote
Guest Derek F Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Hi Dave,Just been out and measured mine, 2.8v6 1998 Galaxy and that is 845 mm at the base of the glass. cheers Derek. B) Quote
Dave-G Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Thanks Derek,There is something in this in this SOMEWHERE, what about maximum height of glass? Mine is 530mm,near the rear, just in front of the curve, and 190mm at front just behind the curve.there IS a missmatch somewhere 'cos my sis got the wrong ones and had to change them[t'other way round from Oscar] This is'nt my car, just a pic I found while car hunting Quote
Dave-G Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Ok, so noboby with a mk1 galaxy wants to measure theirs at the mo. I'm keeping my mk11 deflectors when I replace my zetec next week....I'll try them against a mk1 and photo it before fitting to my newer tiptronic ghia   I had no idea they'd be so rare  Quote
Dave-G Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 OOOOOOPs 290mm thanks Fredt  Quote
Dave-G Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003  Well, that SEEMS to be the case! . . . . . .HOWEVER..I was in cd bramal's and sandicliffe ford this week looking for a front parking lampholder[none of them had it-nor ford warehouse]. BOTH places confirm that they can get deflectors for the old model, but not the new model! I'm begining to wonder if the SUPPLIERS have wrongly identified a "difference" and send ones that actually fit another car  It's almost worth removing mine a few day's earlier than previously mentioned just to settle the debate. Quote
Guest oscar Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 hi dave go see darren flint @ cdb he will tell you what you need to know the new shape on mine is about 1 and half inch smaller than the old windows and they dont do the wind deflectors for the new ones as they sell enough of them, see you otr later chap  Quote
Dave-G Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003  GIMMEE STRENTH! SOMEBODY at ford needs a good talking to  Miss-informed would be an understatement. I photo'd my offside deflector before trying it on a mates sharan taxi . . .It fits perfectly, see photo's ( I dont know how to get 2 together-sorry it's going to be 2 reply's) Quote
Dave-G Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 (edited) This is on my mate's R reg Sharan. SO . . . Oscar is correct = the one's he was supplied for a mk1 dont fit his mk2  and everyone else is correct in that the doors are the same, except ME! FORD STAFF ARE OBVIOUSLY VERY HIGHLY TRAINED . . .NOT  In conclusion . . .The ones Oscar was supplied with are apparantly NOT for a galaxy  Edited December 11, 2003 by Dave-G Quote
Guest Derek F Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Hi Dave,Just switched on seen reply, 530mm rear, 290mm front. Cheers Derek  Quote
MrT Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 I am very curious as to what these wind deflectors do and why people fit them. I assume that they are so you drive with the windows open, but why do people want to do that? I would have thought that you would just have more noise and it would negate the use of the climate control? Quote
Guest dumpie Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 :o fitted sum 2day dead sexy dow care wot they do............... Quote
