I have a wee problem, at night i dont know what gear im in, yes i have an auto lol.

I cant see any display in speedo pannel, surely the auto stick should have a light showing what gear your in?

Some times when going from park to drive i dont always know if im in drive netural or 3rd gear.

Anyone confirm if their was any form of lighting?

I have a 2.3 ghia X auto.

Thanks

I have a 2.3 ghia X auto..... we can deduce from that info alone that it is a pre 99 model so it's a Mk1 :) my bet is it's a ..............97

There is a lamp holder that clips to the gear selector shaft and up lights the gear indicator screen, to get to it you need to remove the 'T' handle on top of the shaft, there should be a bolt on the handle on the drivers side? then remove the shaft, this allows you to unclip/prise out the gear indicator panel

and then you should be able to see the lamp holder and bulb? IIRC there is a post somewhere on how to do it with pictures? and in one case where a member replaced the bulb with an LED
