Intermittent Squeak Under Dashboard

Recommended Posts

Squeak, squeak, squeak - One of those nasty intermittent noises that can be hard to isolate. It seems to come from about the middle, perhaps slightly to the left, under the dashboard. Often it will disappear when you turn the wheel a bit on the steering. Sometimes it returns, sometimes it doesn't. - Squeak.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to the causes?

stick the cat in overnight :D a can of silicone dash shine makes them dissapear for a while, easier than ripping the dash out

Well, am afraid the cat would starve. It would much prefer to be snuggled up in front of the fire instead of being sent on some wild mouse chase in a cold car. ....... Silicone dash shine is likely to make the scratches less obvious for a while and remove the dust for a time but would be surprised if it is that good that it can seep through the nooks and crannies then target the source which am hoping isn't something like bushes...........

Try cheese .... if it turns out it isnt anything vermin based, at least you'll have a handy snack near by for long journeys
