Guest urbanstar Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Hi, I have a s reg ford Ka 2 that I bought 2nd hand last year, I think the heater was working when bought it but didn't work all through last winter, I just thought it had a poor heater, however my friend has bought a Ka too and her heater is brilliant. Mine blows cold air with no problem but theres no heat getting through. My dad has checked the valve and says that it's fine is he runs the heater directly from the battery I get hot air. He's also checked the fuses and says that their fine and now thinks that it could be the relays, however we can't work out how to access the relays . Does anybody know how to access them and is there anything else to check, really hoping to avoid an expensive trip to the ford garage. Thanks Jo This particular forum is Ford Ka Technical
Dave-G Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I thought this was a GALAXY forum?...try the KA forum to find users with KA'S
Guest yurir Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 Hi urbanstar, Does this mean Kas have electric heaters, that heat the air directly ?
Guest yurir Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Hi Fredt, Thats intresting. Do Galaxys have a similar system ?My heating is playing up and I just can't understnd why no heat is coming through. When I put the heat on full, I can hear something moving about inside the console, which I assume is the flap valves, redirecting the airflow. Both coolant pipes that disappear into the bulkhead from the engine compartment seem to be getting hot, so I was thinking that coolant was flowing through the heater matrix; but if it has this valve thing, then maybe not.
Guest manxdavid Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 If the blowers working but just blows cold it'll be the valve. Follow the two heater hoses that seem to go thru the bulkhead from the engine side; you'll have to remove the plastic trim panels from below the windscreen and the wiper arms but its in there I promise!!! its an electrically contolled device; same as Fiestas I think.
