mumof4 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Ok..ive been tracing all the pipes/hoses whilst i figure out how to get the shroud off.and ive found a small thin hose that i think should go somewhere..there is something where i think it should go but im not sure.I cant get a clear pic of where i think it should go.Any ideas? I also took off the bit that goes round the middle bit to make it easier for access. Quote

The round "thingy" on the left back of the engine bay with a pool of water in isn't the top of the suspension mount is it? As for the rest, not having a diesel and not being proficient in your language of "thingy, bits and euphamism" I can't help I'm afraid :D Quote
Bigjeeze Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Mum the round thingy with water in it is as HPE says the top of the suspension struts. Dry them as best you can and then put grease in them to help waterproof them. I don't know how to get the shroud off - But have a look at my post and the pics of the sir filter - it may be nothing like your problem but it might help. Quote
mumof4 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Serious problems and i really need help.....just did a very short journey.....i ended up in 4th gear at 20mph..there is nothing there..no pulling power..no turbo..nothing....i never disconnected anything..never pulled anything....it felt like the engine was going to stall all the time..i did a 5 mine journey.and i was in 4th gear all the time at 20mph with the hazards on as i did not want topush it any more...at 4th gear at that speed the revs were steady at 1.5k revs. So please..i really need help here...as far as i can see my car is dead in the water....i have no idea what everything is..or what everything does...i can not put it in a garage so that is out of the equation... Please peeps..i really need help. Quote
Guest VR6! Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 there is something where i think it should go but im not sure.I cant get a clear pic of where i think it should go.Any ideas? the thing where you think it should go? is it on the engine or on the fire wall? why not just try it and see if it fits ok? if it does then take a test run and see what happens? if it fits but you have to stretch, force it themn maybe it doesnt go there? it's called the poke and hope technique :D poke it back on and hope it works ok afterwards! Bigjeeze Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Try and take a pic of the thingy in question - I can then go a nd look on mine to see where it goes. Quote
redneck01246 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 would it not be worth plugging vag com in to see if there are any faults logged in ecu?low boost pressure maybe :D Quote
Guest HairyPlateEater Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Mum, did you have a good read through the turbo problems link that Neil put on his post? There are some good things to try on there to eliminate main faults. I'm still convinced it is turbo issues that is now causing you to go into limp home mode. Like VR6 suggests, try and reconnect the pipe you found and take it for a spin again, see if it makes any difference. Quote
mumof4 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Right..have taken a pic with the aid of a neighbour holding a torch..ive plugged it in to where i think it goes.I havent tried driving it yet with it plugged in. Quote
mumof4 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 ok..here are some lightened pics.. Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Try reconnecting it here.. And here for the test and inspection Quote
mumof4 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 where in correlation to all the stuff under the bonnet is that bit?is it the other end of the component to where i thought it should go?Im sorry but i dont understand the pic....photos yes..but,,call me thick.but i cant picture that pic in engine bay.. Will go have a look tho Quote
mumof4 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 can i add..that in the top pic of the last pics i posted..you can see the other end of the part i think the pipe should go in....that end moves...i moved it by hand..if you press one side of it down..the other side of it moves up slightly...dont know if this helps. Quote
mumof4 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 right..am going to see if there is anywhere else it can go. Quote
