Guest HairyPlateEater Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Having managed to buy a set of NGK Laser Platinum plugs off ebay for Quote
Guest seacam Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 HPE, frigan briliant, so that's what a coil pack looks like. Yours is a Mk1 2.3, 16v, mines a Mk2, 2.3 16v, is it the same engine? Is there a reason why you purchased these spark plugs or did yours just need changing? Quote
Guest HairyPlateEater Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Thanks Seacam  Pretty sure it'll be the same engine, but I'm sure someone who knows more than me will confirm or correct this. Even if different then will be easily adaptable to your engine anyway. Plugs were due for replacement as part of 70,000 mile service which I'll be completing over the next few weeks when time allows (oil change, oil filter change, air filter change, fuel filter change, other fluid level checks/top ups at least) I'm aiming to photo document these too as I do them so will post them when done. These plugs were just at a good price and had good reviews so put a stupidly low bid on ebay and ended up winning! Seller was mistermagpie201 who provided a great service. Quote
Guest rambo Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 are the plugs really called TDK or do you mean NGK just thought it might be a new brand i have never heard of  Quote

Smilge Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Although I have a diesel HPE, that was fantastic! In future if I do any work on mine I'll do the same. Funny old thing though....... Robert is my Mothers brother's name! Quote
Jimbo73 Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 I am absolutely skint and the Gal seems to be a bit running a bit bad.,.,. it seems to be running on 3 cylinders...(allegedly)....So I am going to change the plugs myself tomorrow, and I am a bit worried as I have never done this before. Looks a great set of instructions though, so hopefully won't go too far wrong....Just a couple of questions How do you measure the gap on the plug,.,., Can I buy it preset? ---- I have limited tools..What are the main things to look out for when doing this? DaveL Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Does anyone know where the photo's have gone from this guide? Was just about to change plugs, coil packs and leads, and this would be a great guide if the picks were there. Cheers! Quote

The archive of old posts did not get put online after the last server move and maybe they are part of them unfortunately I cant aceess them as a lowly moderator - the original OP may have deleted them prior to that though in a fit of pique (long story) Quote
