Wow! 'ejus, he's lost it but I suppose in one form or another we've all been there, funny but I felt sorry for the guy as well and the telesales lad, at least he had the training not to ask " That's a no then " I bet he's still dinning on it.

But very funny :16: ;) B)

What I've found of this forum, over time, is that "generally" the amount of technical knowledge a member has is directly proportional to the amount of sarcasm used and the lack of social skills employed when dealing with people not conforming to unwritten netiquette. There are obviously exceptions to this rule, and maybe its just that the mechanically minded have more bad days than the rest of us? On the whole I don't think it's an issue though and understand that different people have different levels of command of the English language and adjust myself as necessary. VR6's post contains good guidelines though, but can only see that if this is put into the forum rules and regs that it would give the "Speak English and STOP SHOUTING" flamer brigade even more excuse to treat "newbs" with the disrespect they don't deserve :) :o

I totally agree with HPE on this.

(Does this make me a power poster, as I have added nothing? No, I've just added my opinion...)

Hello,

for what it is worth, here is my top 5 things that rile me in a post.

1. No hello, please or thank you. Especially from newbies.

2. Threads with no puntuation or line spacing, making it incredibly hard to read.

3. Txt talk, I am no old fart but I find most of it harder to understand than normal writing (guess that makes me an old fart then).

4. Bad spelling and grammar, this is not a personal thing, I see it as a reflection on Britain going down the pan.

5. Caps on all the time, again making it hard to read. Oh and overusing smilies.

Thank you for reading my post.

NEWBIES ARE FAIR GAME.

They are too bloody lazy to read the guidlines, fill in details about their car, do a search, check their own words to see if it makes any sense and a lot of them ask stupid questions such as

MY CAR IS MAKING A FUNNY NOISE ANY IDEAS?

As for those with incomprehensible posts, I'm sure a significant number are just pulling the piss with their txt speak, this is not a chav forum. Anyone with genuine language difficulties would do well to point that out to start with, and the members will all respect that.

BTW I am taking a course in mind reading

SK can you read minds over the net or does it have to be face to face?

When you take the exam it will be easy, just see what everyone else is thinking.
