I need to check my fault codes and have seen this device on the net(see link below).

I have not got a laptop so leads and software not an option,does anybody know if this device is suitable and if so is it any good.Gendan Code reader

Hi

Had one of these for about three years. It works on all TDI's up to about 2004 at which time they changed the vehicle to a different protocol (Whatever that means!) How it works, you switch on the ignition and plug it it, it reads the error codes three times, after the third time it deletes them. You get a book which cross references the code to the fault and there is a web site which cross references the Gendon code to a ford code. Paid
