Taliska Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 So what's all this silliness about the change from BHP to PS. We all know and love BHP, so why bother with PS at all - after all it's just a metricated version of BHP where 1 PS = 0.986 BHP. Taliska Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Yes it does.But... I have it on good authority that VW power outputs are on the "conservative" side, so a 113BHP probably gives at least 115BHP etc etc. Quote
pj_andrew Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Its another of those scams to make things appear better than they are. 115 PS sounds better than 113 BHP (or whatever it is). It's like when we swtiched from gallon prices to litre prices at petrol stations - it didn't seem as expensive Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Power outputs are not accurate anyway, and are usually rounded. Across a sample number of engines, the output will vary by several percent, from new. As they age, the variances will change. To all intents and purposes, the PS and BHP are the same. Quote
