I need some advice please.

After much boasting that my exhaust is the original one and it's done 100K miles - it's broken. It has broken at the last box. The box is fine but the flange for attaching it to the other pipe has sheared off. I have thought about welding but I am not sure it's worth the effort.

I have looked on various web sites but am not sure if the exhaust differs according to year.

Does anyone know?

It's a 2001/2 Mk11 1.9TD1 six speed engine number AUY.

Prices seem to vary between

Not worth the effort welding it m8 .... like TimsBamma said, a good chance that the internal structure of the rear silencer and expansion box have had it by now. Just think of the improvement in performance and economy when you have to shell out on a new exhaust. <_<

Taken it off - it's not worth repairing - the seams are starting to go so it's a new one. GSF have one for around

Best to get it replaced sooner rather than later though as you run a greater risk of exhaust gasses entering the cabin with the back box off.

Yep - I know - couldn't get one today - GSF are getting it in tomorrow morning so should be fitted by lunchtime.
