I had a 6000CD unit in my Mondeo Mk 111 and was one and a half DIN, if that makes any sense. I'm pretty sure the Mk 11 Gal is double DIN, so whether its the same as the Mk 1 you'll have to ask a Mk 1 owner.

Hope this helps

The 6000 RDS for the galaxy is the same as the others apart from the square frame part blends it into the dash properly. What was fitted to your MK1?

I have just got one off ebay myself to replace the 5000 RDS tape and will be fitting it tonight I can measure its dimentions before it goes in if you need me to.

Hello

While on the subject of RDS players I am going to remove my 5000 and fit a standard CD/radio into my MK 2 Galaxy 2.3.

What I would like to know is, I purchased a blanking plate and din kit off ebay to fill the space left once the old unit is removed and the new player fitted.

Has anyone utilised the gap/space left and turned it in to an extra little storage hole, is there something on the market available to do this or must I get handy with a screw driver and Dremel?

I did this on my wife's Focus, (square 6000CD player from into the same size but rounded cornered double radio cassette aperture). I had to file the corners of the dash hole to open them up otherwise the 6000CD sits proud of the dash by about 10mm. It would be the same in the Galaxy ( I had a mk 2) . The replacement dash panel in the Focus was however only

Mk11 6000 is 1.5 DIN, 2006/7 from Mk1 is 1 DIN with a 1 DIN storage space underneath. Will fit with 0.5 DIN to spare. Covered many times before. All info is in the SEARCH.

Try Seat dealers. The Alhambra comes with a sigle din stereo and a little storage hole between the HU and the CC panel.
