Rick.lord Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Galaxy 1.9 Tdi 130Yesterday whilst driving the gal there was a pop & woosh of air sound and the car lost power. I called the out the breakdown company and they arrived and diagnosed that the intercooler pipe at thge front left hand side of the engine had come off. This was refitted and I travelled home. I am not convinced that the clip was retaining the pipe correctly and sure enough it has popped off again. Is this a common fault and is there a mod? as it seems to me it's a poor design or is there another reason why it would be popping off? Quote

Not as far as I know. You might have a blockage in the intercooler causing excessive pressure. Isn't the car under warranty? Quote
tim-spam Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 No problem with the design - it was probably incorrectly re-fitted by your dealer after removal for, for example, a cambelt change. The hose may now be damaged, so replacement is probably the best course of action. The spanner monkeys responsible should foot the bill though. Quote
