Door Handles And Locks

Hello,

 

Just been quoted 49 pounds for a door handle and fittings. The part which is broken is the circlip which should cost about 2p.

Any ideas where i can locate one around the manchester area? None of the breakers seem to have a ford galaxy,

If it's just a circlip, you could try a metal fastener or bearing suppliers.

I was able to source some bits from a VW dealer who sold the parts separately where as Ford sold them as a costly unit. The parts I needed cost me a bit over 3 quid, as opposed to

Hi Ghost

 

Be aware that the door locking mechanisms are similar across most VW and some Audi's, so if you are really stuck take the door lock with you to the breakers and check door lock on the cars they have.

Your best bet is still to go to a local car parts supplier, most will sell you the correct size (again take it along) many will have a box with lots of common sizes.
