mumof4 Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 if you do fit it...ease it in and be gentle!. Quote
31Firefly Posted October 7, 2006 Author Report Posted October 7, 2006 I thought i had a gentle touch. too much brute force. am i right in saying that there is a surclip on top of the spindle? I am nightshift just now and one of the guys said the reason i broke it was because i never took the surclip off (and soaked it in wd40) G Quote
mumof4 Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 yes there are little thin clips..it was all in the threads.IIRC...there are also washers on the bottom of them..and IIRC..there are two of the clips on the top of each spindle. But it was all there. In the threads. Quote
31Firefly Posted October 7, 2006 Author Report Posted October 7, 2006 Ok i never read instructions properly. What an expensive mistake that was eh!!!The money i had saved up in my secret stash will now not be used for 50mm lowering springs, i will have to buy the linkage mechanism. I have a friend who is a ford mechanic so i will speak to him to see if he is doing any special offers on the linkage  . Or i could always get the lowering springs the linkage and then tell my daughter that Santa didn't have any Nintendo DS left. G Quote
31Firefly Posted October 9, 2006 Author Report Posted October 9, 2006 Hello, Today i fitted my new linkage from ford 296 pounds all in. Put the car back together and hey presto it works a treat. So i am now able to take my linkage out again and replace it. I just have to work on my hammer technique now and try and not break things. next time i will read threads more carefully!!! G Quote
