Guest punkc Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Hi Guys, 2.0 ghia auto On a R plateGot a problem with my abs light. It is illuminated along with brake warning light. At first it stayed on all the time, now it goes away , but returns after driving or even idling for about 5-10mins. Noticed it flickers, ie, varies in in intesity before it comes on fully illuminated. Sometimes it goes bright and dim and then dissappears, other times it just stay on. Ihave so far checked sensors and connections. Removed both front sensors and cleand and reffited, same time check toothed ring around hubs, both in good condition. Checked all fuses in engine bay and glove box, no problems there. I have not checked rear sensore as i can't seem to figure out how to get to them under back seat!!!. help. So before i trek down to Mr Ford to be robbed, has anybody got any suggestions. ps would worn rear drums cause both abs and brake warning lights to come on? Quote

Guest punkc Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 right plot thickens, took it for a fault diagnostic scan today, guess what the bloody light would not come on. However as it is with sods law, driving home the bloody abs and brake warning light came on dimly. As it was raining i switched on wipers, headlights, fan and rear and front windscreens heaters, and * lights went out. As soon as switched the fan or lights off the abs and brake warning lights came on, quite dimly at first then a bit brighter. Could it be the batter voltage ? ie overcharging? etc etc, any ideas most welcome , don't really want to spend another Quote
hotleaduk Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 You need a VAG-COM to tell you if abs sensor is gone. cleaning it won't fix it. Quote
tiny Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 (edited) You will find that VAG-COM wont work on a mondeo (after all its a real ford!). BTW the last post on this thread (before yours) was over a year ago. Edited October 25, 2007 by tiny Quote
