Well strangly enough the fault code P1406 for the EGR didn't return.

Have got new HT Leads from Fords

[yes tps on the throttle body left hand side rear of engine, as you look , you can test these, with a multi meter

Excellent, will get the meter out, just wasn't sure where it was located.

That is prob's knackered as well, especially if its showing 0%

Unless the software doesn't recognise it ;)

check the connection you may be in luck !

ignition "on" engine "off" should read less than 0.70 volts, as you open close throttle it will rise to max 4.0/4.5 volts

carnt find ohm's resistance values, but should remain stable ;)

:( glad to here that it was only the HT leads and is fixed now. I was interested in all the posts as I had similar problems with a Mondeo. That was the TPS which had an intermittent open circuit at a particular throttle position. Anyway, depending on how quickly you moved the accelerator whilst measuring the o/p voltage, determined whether or not you saw the problem. Seems strange why you have no readings

glad its all sorted , bloody cars ;) how do you rate the digimoto , have you used it much on other cars ?

Yes strange also why there's no throttle position?

Always seeing 0%

The digimoto software is soo easy to use....I mean, I can so.... :)

Now just bought the more comprehensive software by Palmer Performance called PCMSCAN.

Uses the same hardware by Digimoto.

Should tell me a lot more info for next time.

Haven't used it on other cars, but then again I wouldn't see any problems occuring tbh.

I went for it as its more affordable and seemed to do what I need it to.

Here are the web links.

Thanks again everyone for all your valuable input...

We got there in the end ;)

I had the same/similar problem that you described Bagpuss on my 2.3L petrol. The problem initally started 2 years ago, symptoms were kangarooing away from the lights under hard acceleration only BUT only when the engine was hot. Then it started to occur hot or cold. Next stage was it would bog down completely if I gave it WOT (wide open throttle) from a standstill, To get around this I had to feed the power in slowly.

I spoke to my mechanic man who recommended changing the coilpacks. I did this (
