seatkid Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 My opinion is that the words are very wrong and misleading and may will cause the forum some problems. Technical Support - This is not an official Ford forum, it does not have qualified (Ford) technicians/ engineers/mechanics - my impression from these words is that these people are the experts. The probability is the forum will be inundated with newbies expecting to have their hand held (bear in mind the search is rubbish) And the forum may be held liable for incorrect advice or when people waste money following advice. Suggest you change words to Technical Advice from other enthusiasts or something like that... Discounted Parts and Service - What the hell is this about? Is the forum opening a shop? I'm certainly not willing to endorse Ebay or even GSF/Eurocarparts. I will always say buy original/oem parts, buying aftermarket parts is IMO a waste of money. And what about service? Is MO4 going to do that? Or are we going to get a sponsor? Can anyone really recommend anywhere that gives excellent service thats cheap? My moan is about liabilty and the move toward a commercial base. Quote
mumof4 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Hmmm..i hear your points......I dont claim to know everything..and i certainly cant service a car..yet....why dont you help us?as i certainly dont know how to achieve everything. Quote

Agreed about the technical support point, I'll get this changed. We do have club discounts from the likes of mytyres and blackcircle and I can only see this increasing in the future. I would therefore suggest that this stays in. Maybe changing it to Discounts from Parts Suppliers? And I WOULD recommend mytyres for price and service. Quote
Bigjeeze Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Seat Kid has a good point - as did Gurugal before him - Does anyone have a legal expert who could check the words to ensure no liablity will attach itself to the club or it's members - Also in the same vein - do you not think you should get permission from Glenn for this? It is after all his site - He could close it at a whim and I am sure he will want to be both informed and advised as well as protected. It's only common sense. Quote
mumof4 Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 i have tried to get in touch with glen and as yet have had no responce. Maybe put flyer on hold for now?..i dont know..He has been away this weekend with his exhibitions. Quote
Guest HairyPlateEater Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Better to do things right the first time rather than having to backtrack and correct things later on I think. Quote
El Dingo Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Oh, why not take the view (and print on the flyer as such) that this is a personal recommendation. No responsibilty on the site then. Quote
bigdaddy Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are they done yet? Quote
Guest HairyPlateEater Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Just waiting for the final approval from the mods and Admin on the design wording after concerns were correctly raised regarding the liability issue. Below is the latest design ..... Quote
bigdaddy Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Looking good Why is the site unofficial,,,,,,,,,,,could we not make it official Quote
AndeeeH Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Looking great but with the present fear for vehicle cloning should that reg.no. at the top right be left uncovered? I see all the rest have been blanked. ;) Andy. Quote

Good point, hadn't noticed! will do that tomorrow :D Quote
