Fund Raising Idea Please

To achieve what i believe this club...yes club can achieve we need funds.what for you may say, for advertiseing, for banners, for more stickers, for anything really that can promote us and for display at meets and shows..as we will go to more as the FFOC would like to hold joint meets with us and what better way to promote us than banners and flags!.

 

Now i know that we all have families,we have commitments,we can not do everything,but..if others can do it then why cant we.we can have family orientated shows/meets.There are places around the country that cater for this.And yes i know that some of us me included have spouses that have no interest at all in cars or meets etc..

 

but for a long time now i have felt that this club could and can evolve into so much more..its happening now..with regions being set up,with regional meet co-ordinators being appointed, It will be a long slow road and everything will not happen overnight.I believe that change is inevitable,we have members wanting to help, offering their services,coming up with ideas in their own time,It will all take time, dedication and a lot of effort.

 

I am asking you now for fund raising ideas to help us achive what can be done.Any idea no matter how funny or serious is welcome.

What can we offer ford, in return for funding?

 

well, i had a look on fords website - and i couldnt find a link to an Official forum, so

could we offer ford...

 

A forum (dont forget we also cover the other models) - some sort of arrangement would have to exist (glen?)

A "Portal" to current customers & Potential Customers

A research hotspot (fords R&D my find this forum useful?)

At Shows and Meets - almost advertise galaxys - with our own cars - and banners and all.

there was a few other reasons - but, i forgot lol.

 

mainly though was market research for ford - like it says at the top of the forum "gives you the views of the Public"

 

Discuss and expand people...

good ideas there..but we cant relinquish the forum to ford and i doubt they would recognise it...

 

but...it is worth sounding them out..seeing if they would help in any way.if they say no..what have we lost..nothing.

It could be worth trying a dealer rather than going direct to Ford's. Largish dealer groups usually have stands at events that are local to them such as county shows and motor racing events. They MIGHT be persuaded to part with some of their advertising budget to help the club. This could be approached on a regional basis with a dealer or dealers being targeted in each area. :lol: Andy.

In principal a good idea but it won't work for a number of reasons. Not least of which is the fact that every single one of the cars bar the very latest are all VW's - they are just Ford badged - They are also essentially obsolete models as Ford is no longer producing them - they have an new all Ford Model.

Secondly where would the value for them be? We swap details of how crap their dealer network is, How Ford don't honour their waranties , How they ignore inbuilt problems of design and will not put any money into solving them - Face facts this site is an embarrasment to Ford. :lol:

 

Now maybe VW might be interested? :D

Approach Motor Factors like GSF etc as they have an interest in promoting their products to us VW owners. They at least gain something by sponsoring us - Besides which we advertise them on this site quite a lot as it is.

I know that when I approached mytyres.co.uk they said that they ran an affiliate scheme that would earn the site money for each purchasing customer referral that came through their adverts. We wouldn't be able to have the 3% discount as well, but it might be worth losing that to benefit the community as a whole with some kind of income from them when people buy tyres?

 

Let me know and I'll be able to swap the 3% discount for the affiliate scheme quite easily with them.

If everyone is in agreement, I think loosing the discount for an income is a good idea to start the funding.

i think the tyre idea is good.

 

i know what your saying about the models changing ford being all ford, and VW being all VW etc.

but then i thought -- would ford be interested in what people think of the competition?

 

the idea of regional business (not direct ford) could aslo be worth while - but no doubt they would want there names on any banners?
