anadin Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 crikey, i guess we all think they are having fun filming , but it shows how much goes into this programme , all the best to richard and family Quote
Stevie G Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 What an awful accident, Richard Hammond is one of a kind, Top Gear is one of the best programmes on tv at the minute, his style of presenting is second to none! I'm sure we are all thinking the same way, in that he pulls through and can get back to bringing us his charm and witt through future programmes! Just shows you never know the minute.... What must his poor family be going through Stevie G Quote
Guest bigal Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Totally agree with above, Richard Hammond is a top bloke, makes me laugh so much.Top Gear is the best programme ever and would be a lot worse off without him. My thoughts are with his family. Get Well Soon Richard Quote
teresa Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 hes the only reason i watch top gear heres hoping to a quick and full recovery Quote
mumof4 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Aww Hammy....Hope he recovers well..he is brilliant in all that he does...i loved the episode in top gear where him and t'other bloke were in power boats and got lost! Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I hope he recovers, like already said, hes a great bloke. MJR Quote
Bigjeeze Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I sincerely hope he recovers well as he is a likeable chap. That said the programme is crap the content is puerile and Jeremy Clarkson is a self centered w*nker!. But anyway here's hoping the little feller gets though it! SYmpathy with the family Quote
seatkid Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Top Gear's irresponsible obsession with speed and acceleration meant, just like with Steve Irwin's lifestyle, a serious accident was likely sooner rather than later.Their "promotion" of dangerous driving techniques (i.e. power slides etc.) is, IMO, a significant factor in the high accident and mortality rate associated with young drivers. We all end up paying for this through higher insurance, higher taxes to pay for the NHS and road speed reduction schemes. I hope he recovers, but I have no respect for any of the Top Gear presenters and producers. Quote
tim-spam Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I don't really think you can blame Top Gear presenters for the tendency of some drivers to drive well beyond their ability or the conditions around them. Hope he recovers fully - a good sign was that he regained conciousness during the rescue. Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 i cant believe his condition after a 280mph crash. MJR Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 it sounds like he is doing well :D myself im a big fan of top gear now 5th gear ,cant stand it :D Quote
adrianf. Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Yeah shocked to hear the news. Hope he makes a full recovery. :D Love Top Gear. The banter between Hamster Captain slow and Clarkson is spot on even if it is for the camera. How can anybody say it sets a bad example to other drivers. A bit like saying dont watch our troops fighting on the news cos we will all want to go out and buy a tank and kill people. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT WATCH IT :D Im sure theres not one member on here who can put their hand on their heart and say i wouldnt fancy a job where i can fly all over the world, drive the worlds most exotic/expensive cars and pick up a six figure pay slip along the way. Yes Clarkson is up his own a**e :D but thats Clarkson, if he changed his ways his carear would be over cos people like/hate him the way he is.Hurry up and get better Hamster and lets get Top Gear back on the telly :D Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 i 2nd all of that get well soon :D Quote

Smilge Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I wonder whether the "Vampire" will be placed on the uncool wall now? ..... Hope he gets well soon and returns to present an excellent program. Quote
Bigjeeze Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 last i herd on him - he may have suffered brain damage - but doctors expect him to make a good recovery. MJR Given the average content of their show it's going to be extremely hard to tell if he has suffered brain damage. Quote
