What Engine

Hello,

 

I'm getting some quotes together as I'm having my Galaxy LPGd.

 

Its a 2.3 Petrol tiptronic box first registered August 03.

 

I'm still awaiting the Doc's but a couple of the LPG guys keep asking me what engine I have, can any one help?

Can I just ask if the guys are pros. I thought that any garage would be able to find out what engine it is even if they had to cross refference with the manufacturer.

would have to agree with you on that one! if they are asking what engine a 2.3 Ford Galaxy has under the bonnet you should really be questioning yourself about letting these guys loose on your car! just one online quote using the basic info you provided! now why cant the guys your dealing with do this?

I spoke to my local Ford agent today about a pollen filter, he took my car Reg, durring the conversation he told me my vehicle was fitted with an engine as fitted to the Transit and was a 130 not 115 as I thought, can anyone confirm this?

 

I spoke to another Ford Agent who said this was not the case, that the engine as fitted to my Galaxy Ghia was Fords 16 valve, twin OH cam and not fitted to any other vehicle and rated at 115bhp

 

My engine Num if it is of any help is 3S23942.

 

Also, I'm a little confused about the Zetec, is that a model above or below the Ghia?

I'll nail the answer down tommorow and post back, still 142bhp, much much better then I thought it was anyway.

 

It's true what they say if the manafacture don't know, ask a forum. :)

 

I don't want to start a new post unless I have to but would you know for my vehicle, did Ford ever resolve the leaking washer pipe in the footwell saga.

 

I'm a great believer in " if it aint broke don't fix " however if it's going to be a problem I rather sought it now.

The Galaxy Brochure quotes 140PS which equals 142BHP, although I think earlier models were quoted as 145BHP. And your man is right, it is the same engine used in the LPG/CNG Transit.

That's right, the Transit is quoted as 145PS and 210NM of Torque.
