Guest galaxy99 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Sunday 1st October????? sorry but i'm on holiday from 30/9 to 7/10 :)
Ivor_E_Tower Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 From experience, Beale Park is spectacularly disappointing - it is very small and can be experienced in less than 2 hours. No fairground rides or similar to keep the kids entertained. The Savacentre car park at Calcott probably has more charm than Beale Park LOL! IMHO a week-end meet would be better than a Friday night - the M4 can get very gunged up on Friday afternoons/evenings. Better to wait a few more weeks and aim for Saturday - time it right and the footie fans can watch the action on the tellys on sale in the shop. Last time I stopped, there was also a small restaurant upstairs at the front of the building - mind you, it was being refurbished yet again....
marty16610 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Dont pick a saturday when Reading are playing at home cause the M4 turns into a bigger car park than savacentre
Guest galaxy99 Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 what about meeting at virginia waters it's a bigish park with plenty of parking and it means the far south east members don't have to travel far.........
TimsBamma Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I'll wander along to a Weekend meet, or try too dependant on kids footie, O/T etc. savacentre is about 3 or 4 miles from me :D For the shoppers amongst you there is a big NEXT / BOOTS and Soccerworld as well Sava and MacD's usually the CarPark on the NEXT end of the siteis fairly empty especially if you go to the corner furthest away from the entrance.
El Dingo Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 what about meeting at virginia waters it's a bigish park with plenty of parking and it means the far south east members don't have to travel far......... ... and bring a picnic! It's nice at this time of year. "Virginia Water is located at the south end of the Great Park, near Ascot. The Water itself is a large lake, with the Valley Gardens and Smiths Lawn (home of the Guards Polo Club) to the north. There is a pleasant walk around the lake, encompassing many curiosities, including a 100 foot totem pole, an artificial waterfall and grotto, an obelisk raised by George II, and part of a ruined city imported from North Africa."
