Guest galaxy99 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 hi all, would anyone be upto meeting me at a local supermarket or pub carpark in this area? any ideas would be greatly received i.e times/places to meet. also doesn't have to be restricted to this area any member would be welcome who could make it, we could become the southern section. i leave it up to you......
mumof4 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Well i know where reading service station is on the M4. :D ..Anywhere else and i think id need to employ a guide!! :D
adrianf. Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Meeting in pub car parksOOOOH i say
Ivor_E_Tower Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Reading's not too far from me - gather that there is quite a big ASDA somewhere around that part of the world - a meet-up in a supermarket carpark sounds ideal! Free parking, get one with a good car accessory section and we can have quite a laugh, plus the food/drinks from an all-day cafe will be around one quarter of the price of a motorway service area.
Guest galaxy99 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 there is big asda at high wycome, but thats abit out the way i do on the other hand have an asda in lower early which is just off j11 on the m4 there's a mcdonalds on the otherside of the road could show the some of those whipper snappers a thing or too, as once said in the volvo owners club there's no replacement for displacement! i'm pleased about this response and don't worry mumfo4 about directions you should try www.multimaps.com you might aswell keep my mobile number then just in case you get lost. :D
El Dingo Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Come on now guys! Reading services has an on-site M&S if you want posh food. :D What about a meet at Beale Park: http://www.bealepark.co.uk/If it's just a few of us there's no need to book. It's great for the kids too. Nice cafe. Then there's Black Park near Slough: http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/countryside/coun...tm#Black%20ParkBring a picnic to that one... How about a 'End of the runway at Heathrow meet'? If any of you are plumbers I'd advise leaving the pipe carrier at home, or we might start a security scare. Legoland meet? http://www.legoland.co.uk/A bit expensive, this one, but all facilities. Or Odds Farm, for those with very young kids: http://www.oddsfarm.co.uk/ A pub lunch?
mumof4 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 pub lunch sounds good to me!! :D  ..... Sorry El..will have a gander at the links in a mo.. Im up for it..depends when though.
Guest galaxy99 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 :D Beale park is a good one as it's almost halfway on the m4 j13 for those coming from the west or j12 those coming from the east a34 for those coming from the south aswell got quite good access! we could always go to lego land and make lego shalaxy/al-ham-bra(mumof4). so anymore suggestions or shall we find a hat and some paper...... no peeking now!
