  1. Oh my god - what have I started.... Sorry chaps! ;)
  2. Indeed - Thats a good idea, making sure there are viable contributions before some newbie starts sprouting rubbish about the place - i'm a member on another board, Pistonheads, and the newbies are hard work! My Galaxy is a dark blue, midnight blue rings a bell, and its an 03 2003. It had 44k on the clock when bought, up to 68k now, and will likely do the 30 before it's year is up. To be honest i'm not at all as clued up as I'd like with models, versions, variants etc, but it's the 6 speed manual, climate (not the separate front and rear, but sort of, the rear can go three degrees higher than the front??), electric rear flappy windows, multi function wheel etc. How much of that is standard in a Ghia i'm not sure, but I love it. I think it surprises people too just how well she goes! Problems aren't that bad to be honest, but the air-con which was fixed for me when I bought it seems to have packed up, I think my drop links have been killed by the North Circular (horrible painful way to go), bizzare temperature issues which means the car idles faster than usual and the gauge is low even when hot, and a near side wing mirror someone kindly kicked off for me when left in St Albans one night. As you can see, the joys are not without their woes, but without them life would be boring wouldn't it! I take it you're an ex Galaxy owner?
  3. I'm afraid so, but its not true what they say you know, well most of the time...! :D Thanks for the welcome! Now, where's the best place to start with a techie query? Perhaps more searching is the way to go first, so much info on here!
  4. Well hello! More of an intro from me than anything else, for this post anyway. I've got a 1.9 TDi Ghia which i've had for just coming up to a year. I traded up from a Focus estate as with four children between my partner and I, two cars was just a pain. I do a fair amount of miles I suppose, about 30k a year, some for work, and I have to say, the Galaxy has been great - on the whole! A few niggles and pains, which is the reason i'm very glad I came across this forum, but i'm looking to be able to contribute as well as ask questions - give and take etc etc! So there we go, thats me! I live in Herts, have a classic TVR which has been undergoing restoration for about 5 years now, am an Officer in the RAF VR(T) working with the aid cadets, work full time in West London in Internet/Project management, and have very little time between all of that for much else to be fair... But hey, life is what you make of it! I look very much forward to using the board going forward. Cheers, Tony
