  1. Our Galaxy has been doing the exact same thing for awhile and i've been scratching head as to what it could be, it's gradually getting worse too (it did it 3 times to me today, once when over taking a slow moving van much like the op did). Whats required to fix it? a new pedal or just the potentiometer? any body know part numbers and costs? If I want to get it checked before shelling out for parts will it show up in the ecus memory or am I just going to have to change it and see if that fixes it?
  2. Glad I searched and found this thread, I've been having problems with my galaxy, parking sensors not working, rear wiper being intermittent until it stopped working completely and the other day I noticed the reverse lights weren't working so I came on here looking for the answer. I've just pulled the rubber conduit back and the reverse lights feed had snapped completely and alot of the other wires are breaking up. What I wanted to ask was do Ford do a repair loom? or have I got to find a load of spare wires the right sizes and fix them that way? I guess I know what i'll be doing tomorrow.
  3. Hey people, i'm having problems with the parking sensors on my 02 115 TDi Galaxy Zetec. When put into reverse or the button on the dash is pushed to turn on the parking sensors the system just emits a steady tone. some times it will stop and beap normally but not for long (couple of seconds if that). I've checked all the sensors and they all tick when I stick my head next to them so I think they are all working. I also gave them all a wipe over just to make sure it wasn't dirt on the sensors etc. Whilst I was doing this I found that the passenger side sensor on the front (above the fog light) was very loose, to the point that it disappeared into the bumper. D'oh I've stuck my hand up behind the bumper and found the sensor hanging down and it would appear that the plastic clips that hold it in have snapped on the sensor itself. I can't for the life of me unplug the sensor, can any body tell me how to get it undone? I've also checked the control unit and it's not damp etc so I'm hoping that is ok. I suppose the wiring may also be an issue but I don't fancy taking the car apart to check all the wiring just yet. I'm gonna be busy it seems as the booster heater needs looking at too (was no jet aircraft sound last winter and the engine was taking ages to warm up, hopefully just the glow plug).
