  1. I would agree with Chris.. I had problems with mine and got mine sorted by using a guy who fixes Industrial Air Con and Water chiller units. He vacuumed mine out for 2 hours to get rid of any moisture and contaminants then pressure tested it then filled with gas. He said that there was alot of moisture in the system which was probably caused by the small portable air con unit hat I last used at a mates garage. Works a treat now and temp in middle vents gets to about 6 degrees....a bit warmer in the outer vents at about 7.2 degrees
  2. I have found wires behind the front bumper damaged, caused by rubbing. Also, the sensors themselves. Put your ear to them and they should constantly click away. If it doesnt it's either faulty or has a cable/power problem.
  3. Hi there averyone, I have a Mk2 Gal V6 24v (ex police)and when I purchased it I had Dunlop Sp2020EXL's fitted and they were good. Lasted approx 20-25k with normal driving. One year I decided to try another make, I went for Falkens. These tyres grip like hell but they have only lasted about 8k miles! So, as we have new tyres and tread patterns about now, when would you reccomend to replace my worn out Falkens? Do I go back to good old faithfull 2020's or try another pattern, or even different make? I, like everyone, is after the best of both worlds. A cheap tyre that works well and lasts for ages :-) I dont mind spending the extra for a good tyre but if I do I would like to get about 20k out of them again. It doesnt get driven hard so should be ok. Your thoughts and comment would be much appreciated. Best regards Justin
  4. Hi there, Ive owned my Mk2 Galaxy for about 7 years now and its been great. An ex police unit which has now just turned 244,000 miles and still going strong. Since ive had the Gal ive been dying to try the Mondeo Zetec 18" Alloys on it as they are identical, but bigger and in my opinion would look pretty cool, but still have the original look to them. Has anyone here tried these wheels on the Mk2 Galaxy? I understand about the load rating of the tyres but just wondering if they would fit or not? Ive got the 2.8 V6, which of course has the big brakes.. Many thanks Justin
  5. I have the same fault now after i fitted clutch on it !! Did you have any luck locating the fault ? Cheers Justin
  6. hi seatkid, Im not really moaning about the running costs of the V6 Galaxy. I knew before i bought it that it wasnt going to be brilliant on fuel, and to be honest i find it pretty good on fuel considering the size of the engine and the weight of the vehicle. I get on average 32 mpg and can get close to 40 on a run. Im happy with that. Yes, put your foot down and your in the teens!! It's the road tax that bugs me, it always feels like 'dead money'. especially when its supposed to go for the upkeep of Britains roads.
  7. HI Everyone, Along with the silly rise in fuel prices the government are now proposing to raise the raod tax on all cars, but for some reason Galaxy's and other MPV's are getting stung !! :D I own a 2001 V6 24V Galaxy Mk2 and currently pay
  8. Well, i have a very similar fault with my Galaxy. Mines a Mk2 2001 Ghia trim. But i actually HAVE a fault ! My indicators, indicate right, all working fine, indicate left and it MAY work but 85% of the time the flasher relay just clicks fast with no bulbs lighting up ! Now and again it will work for a few flashes then revert back to the quick clicking and with no illumination. It has the same problem on the Hazards. Ive tries all the bulbs, connectors, fuses, relay is soldered onto fusebox. Its very very intermittant and very very annoying !! I have not yet put it on a fault diagnosis machine reader yet. Just wandering if anyone has had a similar problem? Not sure where to start looking for an intermittant B+ fault ? Could be anywhere !
  9. Hi Tim, I will try it later on and let you know. Simple enough job. Fingers crossed!! Cheers
  10. Hi Guys, just a quick one for you. I own a 2002 V6 Galaxy with the full front and rear roof mounted air con, really great for the kids, but im no having problems. I had to one day remove the main digitalcontrol unit from the centre console in order to do some other work to the car, but since i have done that it seems that the unit has forgotten what the inside temperature really is!! I tell it to go to say 23 degrees on AUTO and soon after it's blowing cold air out, when it is probabaly about 19!! It should be warming up not cooling. If i turn up the temperature setting untill the blowers even out as such, it roughly works out the it thinks the cabin temp is about 27. It's really lost the plot, it's as if the unit need calibrating to the cabin temp sensors again. Anyone had this fault? I do have a Brand new unit but unsure wether this will make any difference. Best regards Justin
  11. HI there, I know this topic is regarding the 12S socket, but i just require some info for the wiring of the 12N socket if poss. I have fitted a towbar on my 2002 Galaxy and just require the 12N socket. Should i buy the special wiring kit which plugs in or will my Galaxy not have this socket as i have looked for it but unable to locate it !!!! Or am i best just using the 12N socket i have already and just scotch locking them in to existing wiring? Dont really like them things as i have found they usually give poor connections after time. Hope someone can help Best regards Justin
