  3. hi everyone, i am thinking of selling my galaxy but i do not have a clue what to sell it for.It is a 1998 2L petrol glx with 85000 miles on the clock. It has new tyres on it ,a new starter motor(
  4. thanks for the replies i will try the ford garage first.
  5. hi, has anyone changed the battery in their key fob before ,i have to go close up to the car nowadays to lock it,i am not sure whether you have to go to a ford garage or just prise the thing open myself, better to be safe than sorry .I have a galaxy 1998 glx. Thank you.
  6. no no i have not had the car serviced by a garage in 6 years ,i think i last checked the oil in july i normally do not let it go this long.
  7. hiya,i have not had it serviced for about 6 years ,there isn't any oil on the floor or on or around the engine,it looks spotless. The smell was like a rubbery burning smell. Thanks.
  8. hi ,i checked my oil the other day and it was dry as a bone ,i put in a bottle of oil which took it just below the min level ,over the past few weeks i have smelt a burning smell when i get out of the car ,could this be part of the problem?I know i should have done something earlier but as i know absolutely nothing about cars i thought i would ignore like some people do with red letters.Shall i top the oil up with another bottle or should i get an oil change done or should i pop into a garage for advice, may i also add that there isn't any oil on my drive so it can't be leaking i have a 98 ford galaxy 2litre. Thanks for any advice
  9. did you solve your problem ,i am having the same problem at the moment
  10. so i guess its probably the starter motor, are their any websites that will show me where the starter motor is and are they easy to clean up and put back in? cheers.
  11. yes the engine is still running after disengaging, like i said its not every time but no doubt something will go when i am in the middle of nowhere.
  12. hello i have a 98 2litre galaxy when i turn the ignition the car starts but sometimes (normally 8 out of ten times) a funny noise follows, as sort of whirring sound, as though you have not stopped turning the key, sorry about the vague description maybe it is a common thing and someone knows about such a thing, cheers.
  13. cheers for the help i sorted the problem out,i found one of the two small wires had broken in half(black+red,i think) this was located in the rubber thingy majig that is attached from the rear door to the car, thanks .
  14. will do as you suggested gregers, cheers.
